Junior Squash Training

• Junior Squash training is held each Tuesday and Thursday afternoon during school terms. Other times are available subject to numbers including Monday and Friday afternoons, and weekends.

• Training is conducted by experienced squash players and is designed for juniors between the ages of 8 and 19. Smithton Squash Club has a number of Level 1 Squash  Coaches, fully trained to deliver quality squash coaching for both junior and adult players.

• Depending on numbers, novice and  less experienced players begin training at 4pm with higher grade players at 5pm. 

• Junior players are also encouraged to play in the weekly pennant competitions on Tuesday or Wednesday nights.

• Training costs approx $6/week.

• All junior players (those eligible for the Squash Australia 19 years age group and below) are required to wear protective eyewear whenever they are on a squash court with racquets and balls. Protective eye wear will be provided for all juniors before being allowed onto the Smithton courts.

Tasmanian Squash Academy Club Program

Smithton Squash Club as an active member of the Tasmanian Squash Academy Club Program. In 2010 we had 4 players undergoing the TSA Club Program, which includes:

• Intensive Coaching and Physical Training (up to 5 times per week)
• Weekly pennant games
• Regular State and interstate tournaments

The TSA Club Program is designed to develop junior squash players who are equipped to compete at state and national level tournaments. For more information please contact us.
